Last second canoe trip w my son. As usual, great place to stay. Love the view of the deck, the hot tub, and the opportunity to unplug. Hosts are great, easy to communicate with, and create a wonderful environment to chill. Do yourself a favor and check them out.
Our annual Girls trip was a huge success! We each had our own bed. The cabin was clean and provided us with all we needed. Burn ban kept the fire pit from being used, but it looked like we would have had smores a plenty. While in the hot tub, we were able to see stars, a comet and the space station. Will come again.
We loved our stay!! It was a great cabin with everything we needed!
We loved our stay so much we extended our stay just to stay an extra night! Perfect location to see caves waterfalls and to hike! The hot tub was an added bonus! We enjoyed it every night just watching the stars and enjoying how peaceful it is! We will definitely be coming back again soon!
Awesome location, awesome cabin. Fox Den is a two bedroom, one bedroom with a queen size bed and another with 2 twin beds. So good for a couple with 2 kids. It has a large living room with 2 couches and a nice kitchen with a full size refrigerator, stove and microwave along with all the plates glasses and utensils you need. Location is about halfway between Ft. Smith and Fayetteville in the Boston Mountains so if you need anything in a big city it is reasonably close. If you are into 4×4 roads, there are trails close by. Frog Bayou, Warloop Rd., Alexander Mountain, and White Rock Mountain east and west. The cabin sits way up on the mountain with a good view of the valley to the west and is close by a scenic overlook (looking east). Best part is the large hot tub sitting on a large balcony. There is also a fire pit if you so choose. One note, they do not have cable so bring your own DVD movies. Prices are very reasonable for a cabin like this.
I loved this cabin! It was perfect for the 4 of us! And the hot tub was easy to access and ready for us to get in. Will definitely be back. Was also in a decent budget for us for 2 nights! Not bad for a cabin WITH A HOT TUB!! If you can’t tell the hot tub was my favorite part. Definitely will recommend to all my friends
My reviews aren’t great literary work, but I try to give a lot of detail. New owners took over the place very recently, so this may be one of their first reviews. LeAnn has made a great start and communicates well.
We stayed in Cabin #1, Lazy Bear. The coded lockbox for the key is on the wall next to the door and works easily. Directions are under the cover. There is a driveway light outside to make parking and front door access easy at night. No fumbling in the dark to get in. There were three of us, but the cabin is well set up for ten. It was perfectly clean. The wood interior is in great condition with new-looking ceramic tile and good lighting throughout. The living area has comfortable seating for eight. The days and evenings were cool during our stay, but the AC/heat wall-unit kept the temperature comfortable and is easy to set.
The kitchen has enough plates, utensils, pots, and pans. The kitchen table seats six (could squeeze eight) with a table on the covered porch to seat four more. The water has no smell or discoloration. The water has a mineral taste, as one would expect of that geographic area. It is not a bad taste and did not affect cooking. We saw no need for bottled water. The refrigerator is clean and the freezer has six ice-cube trays.
The bedrooms are clean and practical. The primary bedroom has a queen bed with a mattress that is comfortable and on the soft side. The second bedroom has two sets of twin-over-double bunks. One living room sofa is a pull-out. There are plenty of towels, linens, and blankets in good condition. The bathrooms are clean with good water pressure and fixtures that work smoothly. The hot tub on the deck was in great condition and very clean. The controls are easy to use, the jets and lights all work, and it is built to seat six. There is no view to or from the neighbors from the hot tub, but there is a nice view of the hillside across the hollow and a decent view of the stars.
The location is excellent. It is only about 100 yards off Route 71 along a graded road, and is easy to find. There are a couple cell towers nearby, but T-Mobile is obviously not one of them. The proprietor’s warnings about remote grocery stores and restaurants is accurate. Our trip included seeing a performance at the Walton Arts Center in Fayetteville which is a pleasant 40 minute drive up Route 71, if you are looking for more than burgers or pizza. This is a very relaxing place to stay. We will be back soon.
A quiet and intimate getaway
